The branch of computer science which deals with the stimulation of intelligence in machines. Artificial intelligence is changing the world, until now using Photoshop, real-looking fake photos could be created, but it took hours of hard work.
Now this can be done in just a second. Putting a smile on your face, click one button and it’s done. Changing your hairstyle with one click your hair becomes shorter. You can even expand your photos outside the country. These fake photos look very real. Artificial intelligence can change your voice in a video if you want, it can change your language.
Companies like Marvel are using Artificial intelligence to create animations for their TV shows and movies. It is unimaginable. What Artificial intelligence is already capable of. Automatically replying to E-mails, writing e-mails for you, helping you in your studies, helping you with your work, giving you health advice working as your virtual assistant. The possibilities are endless.
We are witnessing a new global revolution. Artificial intelligence (AI) is going to impact everything. The job market is going to change. The political system is going to change. The way of studying in schools and colleges is going to change.
Even though AI’s development has been rapidly taking place for the last 5-7 years, but the people started noticing it when chat GPT version 3.5 was made publicly available. Chat GPT is an AI software that is called a large language model.

Fear of losing the job
The first danger is related to jobs, people are afraid that if AI can do so much and in such a great way and perform better than humans, then many people will lose their jobs. And this is true. In history, whenever a new technology was introduced it has definitely had an impact on the job market. But the impact of AI is much bigger and dangerous than all these technologies.
There are two reasons behind this. First is that the effect of technology will not be limited to a single sector, it will be seen in every field. The second reason is AI’s impact is going to be huge and rapid. No matter what sector it will be, millions of jobs will be wiped out.
You must be scared but there is a piece of good news too, the good news is that if old jobs are wiped out, new jobs will emerge. This is why it is often said that AI is not a job killer but a job category killer.
What will be the emerging jobs?
In all the new jobs that will be created here, AI skills will be needed. A person will be needed who can give instructions to AI on how to work. There is another saying, “AI won’t take your job, but a person knowing AI will.” AI will not be the one to take your job, but a person who knows how to use AI will definitely take your job. This means that we have to adapt to this new world as soon as possible.
In the coming years, AI will become a new standard. That if you want the job you should have basic knowledge of AI. These are a big wake-up call for the entire country.
Fraud and scams
The truth is that many people are already using it for bad purposes, on a large scale. After the advent of AI, the possibilities of scamming and fraud have increased a lot. The most common way to scam people has been voice-based scams through AI. Frauds mimic the voices of your family members through AI and then they ask you for money. You feel that a family member is calling you.
Researchers also found that AI can replicate accents. A study conducted by them found that 83% of the Indian victims of AI voice scams have lost their money. These scams are seen all over the world.
As fast as possible, awareness should be dispersed among people about AI. People should be told that what AI is, how it can be used, and how it is used for fraud and scams. Apart from direct frauds and scams, many unethical companies will also use these AI’s to fool you.
What is Machine learning?
Machine learning is a process by which a computer is able to improve its own performance by continuously incorporating new data into an existing Statistical model. Machine learning is a subset of AI focused on the machine’s ability to learn a specific task.
Machine learning algorithms leverage structured labeled data to make predictions. Machine learning involves predictions or decisions based on data. It gives computers the capability to learn without being explicitly programmed.

Types of Machine Learning
1. Supervised learning
The machine learns from the training data that is labeled. Supervised learning is like learning with a teacher, training data set is like a teacher which is used to train the machine. The model is trained on a pre-defined data set before it starts making decisions when given new data.
2. Unsupervised learning
Unsupervised learning is like learning without a teacher. Training data will be available but it won’t be labeled. The model learns through observation and finding structures in data. The model is given a dataset and is left to automatically find patterns and relationships in that data set by creating clusters. Clustering refers to detecting a group of similar items.
3. Reinforcement learning
The system learns on its own. The model learns with the hit and trail method, on the basis of reward or penalty given for every action it performs.
Life without Machine learning
For someone who does not know anything about Machine learning and Artificial intelligence, he/she might think that it is only being used in robots or machines, which is actually true as portrayed by most of sci-fi movies nowadays. But you would not believe how much more machine learning is giving us. How much of it we are using in our daily lives?
